Republican State Rep Charged With Raping His Mistress' 14-Year-Old Daughter »
Posted By Neophile 2 months ago in NewsMissouri state Rep. Scott Muschany, R-Frontenac, was indicted today in connection with a reported sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl on May 17, the day after this year’s Legislative session ended. The alleged victim is the daughter of a state employee. The girl’s mother and Muschany -– who is married and has two children -- were romantically involved, the woman said.

And CBS Evening News today talked about the Dem Mayor being jailed... and no mention of this fine upstanding Repug!
Hastert didn't bother to do anything to House ethics after either the Foley (pedophile) or Abramoff scandals... and Craig is still there in Congress too!
Let's see if O'Reilly mentions anything as the last time he mentioned a pedophile case he said the kid was better off with the Pedophile than the kid's own family!
No wonder 18 of the 22 Most Corrupt Congressmen are repugs (google the CREW list) - actually under investigation in spite of Dumya guidance to go after only dems! -

Are you freaking kidding me Harris? You are equating Clintons sleeping with grown consenting women to someone raping a 14 year old girl? You sick bastard and we let the likes of you run this world for a time. May god forgive us!

According to the article:
Reply
"The owner and founder of engineering firm Trileaf Corporation, Muschany and his wife were licensed as foster parents with the Division of Family Services, according to his legislative biography."
Conservatives would let this man who allegedly raped a 14 year old girl be a foster parent, but will not allow gays and lesbians to adopt? I think I understand why now! They want to have the children for themselves. This guy should be put on the Steve Wilcos show, then in jail. -

I'd say "par for the course" here, but this guy has a "birdie" on his card for this, even if it's an allegation.

The girl’s father told the Post-Dispatch that his daughter told a sibling about the alleged assault a few days after it happened, and the sibling told the father on May 26, the father said. He called the child abuse hotline the next day.
"I believe what my daughter told me," the father said.-

I'm definitely more apt to believe the girl considering that a politician got to where he was by doing nothing but lying.

Yeah, but it turned out OJ was, in fact, guilty. Remember, he lost the civil suit.

I'd say the Duke lacrosse team is a more appropriate example of trial by the public.
As I recall, the same thing is happening with the National Enquirer story about Edward's affair.
Anyhoo, it's news and you can't expect people not to talk about it.

The Abu Ghraib soldiers were not given the option to prove their innocence - the judge at Fort Hood told them just as their trials started that their chain of command would not be available to testify... so no links up the chain to Rummy, Cheney and Dumya, in spite of their torture memos!

OJ Simpson could be guilty as sin; or not, but the fact is, he was tried and convicted in the press long before his trial was completed. And there is STILL all kinds of outrage over the fact that he was found not guilty of the two yet to be solved murders of his wife, Nicole and Ron Goldman.
Reply
If I were a betting person, I'd bet you had absolutely NO problem with the rush to judgment in that case!
Vengeful and prejudiced people are convinced of his guilt despite the known corruption and penchant of the LAPD for planting evidence, and in large part, based on the out and out lies under oath of the great perjurer turned celebrity law enforcement expert, Mark" the Vermin" Furman! Low and behold, Instead of his arse sitting in a jail cell for perjury, he's been rewarded with a high paying job, making mad money and being treated like a respectable, upstanding citizen! What a joke!!-

what? I don't remember any rush to judgment in the OJ case.

and he was found guilty in the civil trial, thru that rare pair of shoes

but please, let's not rehash OJ, who really shoulda been Juiced years ago
Karma and his own twisted mind are doing what the criminal court failed to
the case of the hotel breaking and entering and kidnapping, and robbery of his memorabilia taken thru the civil case and all that stuff [...video taping and recording yourself in a criminal act? WTH?]
it's kind of interesting to watch and ponder if it's psychosis or a bad conscience that keeps OJ from just laying low and being thankful for beating the rap, like a 'normal' person would
it's also interesting to see that he was still getting women
very, very brave women

That a grand jury found sufficient evidence in such a case and where lots of repug money couldn't bribe this guy off the hook - he's most likely guilty! Look at all the donations Scotter got in the Plamegate case - he doesn't have to work the rest of his life!
Reply
OJ knows he was guilty too, as did his lawyers (a california aberration)... look how Dumya will get away with over a million people dying for his greedy lies! You repugs have done a pretty good job of subverting the rule of law in this country! Even the Military Uniform Code Of Justice is a repug created document to allow the same chain of command of the offender to always protect the evils of that Chain of command!-

Dude, I don't know where you live, but don't forget that a white dude, Robert Blake, got away with it to. Now, let me clue you in on something that you might or might not know. The criminal justice system is not and was not created for rich people. The criminal justice system is not designed for people who can spend the same amount of money to keep themselves out of jail that the authorities will spend to put them in. Also, what's lost on people is that the prosecution ran a flawed case. What is interesting though is how Blacks and Europeans, the world over reacted to the verdict. I was living in Northridge, CA. at the time and I asked my neighbor, who's European-American, if he and his fellow European-Americans were going to riot

Well, at least he staying to republican conservative heterosexual roots and raped a girl instead of a boy. Correction, that blast was out of line and very distasteful. Now, to my take. The republican party has a lot of issues to work out if they are ever going to be the majority party. Their collective hypocracy is going to be their undoing. Some of them rail against homosexuality and then we find out that they're living on the "down low". They talk about family values and then things like this come out. If it weren't for the so called war on terror and low or no taxes, and protecting White man's prevailege, they would not have anything to run on

Statistically, it doesn't look good. At best 4% of sexual abuse cases turn out to be falsely reported. When a child is reporting, it's 1/2%.

The apparent actions of a State Representative seems to fuel discussions about the sexual conduct of our national leaders. Neither party has anything to brag about. In one instance, we are told that we should live by a high moral code, one not followed by the preachers. In the other instance there is no moral code except do what you want and if caught, lie about it. Other than the hypocrisy what is the difference? Reprobates all! But to be fair, lets let this play out through the courts.

But lets convict Obama in the press. Especially since the cahrges the Repugs make against him are lies. Funny when the latest Republican scandal breaks its seems to always need to go thr the courts and of course he was set up by a bunch of teen groupies. But lets make sure we all know that Obama shared the same crib as a serial killer and somehow THAT makes a difference,

You notice the media isn't jumping all over this either. The paper in question that this comes from happens to be from the state that this man lives in, in fact I've heard more of Edwards on national television then this act. Besides, raping a 14 year old is completely different from a consensual affair.

If the man is guilty, then I am all for a swift and severe punishment. However, there has been no decision on his guilt.

In the meantime, let's have a little restraint on our emotions and let the law take care of this. The statistics suggest that there are as many false rape reports as legitimate rape reports.
And let's also not be so naive as to assume that this is related to one party vs another.-

That's flat wrong! Rape and sexual abuse are among the most UNDER-reported crimes. 1 in 5 women will experience some form of serious sexual abuse in her lifetime (and that's a conservative estimate). In the military, it's 1 in 3 (1 in 10 for men). I'm not talking a butt-pat or sexual innuendo.
The Duke lacrosse team case was the extreme exception.-

Here are some REAL statistics.
# 1 in 4 girls is sexually abused before the age of 18.
# 1 in 6 boys is sexually abused before the age of 18.
Fabricated sexual abuse reports constitute only 1% to 4% of all reported cases. Of these reports, 75% are falsely reported by adults and 25% are reported by children. Children only fabricate ½% of the time.
That bears repeating:
Children only fabricate ½% of the time. -

Tang, for a change I'm suggesting restraint in this case. I'm confused by the actual charges. Child molestation in the second degree, 1) A person is guilty of child molestation in the second degree when the person has, or knowingly causes another person under the age of eighteen to have, sexual contact with another who is at least twelve years old but less than fourteen years old and not married to the perpetrator and the perpetrator is at least thirty-six months older than the victim.
Reply
(2) Child molestation in the second degree is a class B felony.
I'm not sure if this was a plea agreement, if it was then lock the S-O-B up. But if it goes to trial, there's a good chance he could walk. Lets see what happens.
