As usual Bono steps up to the plate again. Why can't we all be more like him. If we all just do a little bit to help we can help wipe out some of the worlds problems. Come on people.......All you have to do is care.

Think, if everyone took $1.00 a week and donated it to one cause, we could make a difference.

    We can do it.

I have faith in all of you...........come on........

Bono! The man is definitely guided by his faith. He may not fix the world but at least he's stepping up to the plate and taking a swing.

Hopefully he'll quiet down the rantings of the shut-up-and-sing crowd who think entertainers should exist only for their amusement and not be allowed to use their brains and talent for social or political causes. God bless him.

He's just a great man. What a great way to utilize fame and turn worldly wealth into true wealth. I'm just me, but I'll do my part and invest in the products helping AIDS research.

I agree, ameliog, people need to quit hating on him. Follow his example!

Rammstein - Are you joking? Do I need more coffee to wake up and get this?

You're against it because red is the color of communism? Have you removed this color from your American flag too, in case communism sneaks out of it? Should our fire trucks be painted green or blue or white so they don't end up being used to transport communism? Do you remove the red crayon from your kid's crayon box so they don't advance communism through their coloring?

Sorry, I have to take your comments as a joke. They're too funny to be the product of a serious (and non-paranoid) person. BTW, when did "old" China go away? They're still communist.

            ;)

...oh, you'd have to get rid of the "Red" Cross too. They must be a commie group as well, or will be if they don't change their color.

This could go on for days, but I'll end here. Thanks for the laugh.

How much profit does Bono make from each sale and for advertising Red products?

"How much profit does Bono make from each sale and for advertising Red products?"

Does that make a difference to you or is the question a means to find fault? For the sake of argument, let's say Bono keeps 98% of all sales on Red products. The 2% that would go to charity is still 2% that wasn't going to charity before. And 2% of something is better than 100% of nothing.

Do you have a specific cut-off percentage where you'll refuse to contribute toward charity, or does your personal views on a specific entertainer make you back away from helping others? I'm curious.

This isn't the same model as sending your money directly to charity. In that case, questions on how much actually gets through to the charitable cause is important. With Red, you choose either the blue product (for example) or the red product. One flavor of the product lacks the charity component, the other includes it. If the price is equal, why not buy Red?

I'm wondering if this will bolster the "Bono is the Antichrist" phenomenon. LOL
