Left Coast Electric turns 1978 Triumph into an electric car
Autos – During the Santa Monica Alt Car Expo last December, Gadget and his crew from Left Coast Electric ripped out the guts of a Triumph and tried to convert the car in two days. A little hassle from the Fire Marshall and a few technical hiccups meant that the conversion wasn't complete by the time the Expo closed on Sunday, but and proved it is possible.

Homemade 100 mpg, 2,500 dollar Moonbeam microcar at the Alt Car Expo in Santa Monica
Autos – Jory Squibb built his Moonbeam last year in his Maine garage. The unique little dome is built from used Honda motorscooters, gets about 100 mpg and cost him $2,500 to make.
