Here's a solar-powered robot chariot / rickshaw with a George Bush head - No, I'm not kidding

Autos – I know, I know. But I'm not kidding that you have to see this video to believe it: a robotic George Bush on skates rollerblades to pull a metal chariot. Oh, and Bush is dressed like Caesar. Invented by Bob Schneeveis, a Stanford prof, the thing runs on solar-powered batteries and a 24-volt motor in the robot's chest (insert Dick Cheney joke here).

Autos – Written by a blogger with 20 years in the auto industry, this clever, descriptive post looks at the issues holding back sweet cars like the Tesla Roadster from being within everyone's budget, and why it will still take many years for electric cars (like the Chevy Volt) to be a legitimate option for major auto manufacturers. Edumacate yourself.

Video Left Coast Electric turns 1978 Triumph into an electric car

Autos – During the Santa Monica Alt Car Expo last December, Gadget and his crew from Left Coast Electric ripped out the guts of a Triumph and tried to convert the car in two days. A little hassle from the Fire Marshall and a few technical hiccups meant that the conversion wasn't complete by the time the Expo closed on Sunday, but and proved it is possible.

Should hybrid vehicles always make a sound? Advocates for the blind say yes

Autos – The National Federation of the Blind (NFB), an advocacy group, is calling for all hybrid vehicles to emit a sound when turned on, and this noise needs to be loud enough to hear over ambient traffic noise. Good idea? What other alternatives are there?

Chicago Auto Show: 2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, now with EV ONLY mode!

Autos – This is a perfect example of a company trying to create sweet PR while not changing the reality of its product. The new Highlander hybrid does have a electric-only button, which is a great headline. But, because the batteries are the same as previous models, the all-electric range is, um, not exactly headline-worthy (hint: it's less than 1.1 miles)

I'm in the Ferrari Club of America, and I got to drive a Tesla Roadster

Autos – How does the pre-production prototype Tesla Roadster suit a man used to driving fast cars (he's in the Ferrari Club of America, fer crying out loud)? Quite nicely, thank you. Oh, and he enjoys blowing away a tricked-out Nissan 350Z in impromptu drag races. It simply wasn't a contest.

With the help of Josh Tickell, author of Biodiesel America, the Biodiesel Green Ambassadors are here to spread the word about the original biofuel. And, perhaps, sing a little song about biodiesel. It's 12 minutes of inspiration from AutoblogGreen.

Headed to the ski slopes in your Prius? Better check this out first!

Autos – What happens to a Prius when one of its front wheels starts spinning in the snow? Sometimes, ALL power to the drive system is stopped. Maybe a Prius performs better with global warming after all.
