Autos – I know, I know. But I'm not kidding that you have to see this video to believe it: a robotic George Bush on skates rollerblades to pull a metal chariot. Oh, and Bush is dressed like Caesar. Invented by Bob Schneeveis, a Stanford prof, the thing runs on solar-powered batteries and a 24-volt motor in the robot's chest (insert Dick Cheney joke here).

Autos – Written by a blogger with 20 years in the auto industry, this clever, descriptive post looks at the issues holding back sweet cars like the Tesla Roadster from being within everyone's budget, and why it will still take many years for electric cars (like the Chevy Volt) to be a legitimate option for major auto manufacturers. Edumacate yourself.

Autos – Who says kids don't apply themselves anymore? Steven Henderson, a 15-year-old in Britain, heard about global warming and climate change in school (he admits he's a "hopeless" student) and got his dad to buy him about $20,000 worth of biodiesel-making equipment. Now, he says, "I would like to be a really big oil producer."

Autos – As hinted at, Tesla Motors and the state of New Mexico announced today that Albuquerque will be home to Tesla's first manufacturing plant in the US. Tesla's new all-electric sedan, codename WhiteStar, will be made in the Land of Enchantment. Construction on the plant will begin in April. No word on when the cars will be ready, but Tesla moves fast.

Autos – During the Santa Monica Alt Car Expo last December, Gadget and his crew from Left Coast Electric ripped out the guts of a Triumph and tried to convert the car in two days. A little hassle from the Fire Marshall and a few technical hiccups meant that the conversion wasn't complete by the time the Expo closed on Sunday, but and proved it is possible.

Autos – "Pleasure through its Lightness and its Efficiency while remaining Accessible through its Simplicity and Environmentally-friendly in its design." That ridiculous way to get the acronym PLEASE, but results are sweet. We've got high-res images of all eight top finishers in the PLEASE design competition. The best name? The Concept Liion.

Autos – The National Federation of the Blind (NFB), an advocacy group, is calling for all hybrid vehicles to emit a sound when turned on, and this noise needs to be loud enough to hear over ambient traffic noise. Good idea? What other alternatives are there?

Autos – "Ohhh, that is SOOOO CUTE!" Since their inception about 100 years ago, electric cars have been targeted at female drivers. Today there are some women who looooooove EVs. This post takes a look at the Then and Now versions of electric cars for the ladies, and some that are decidedly male.

Autos – This is a perfect example of a company trying to create sweet PR while not changing the reality of its product. The new Highlander hybrid does have a electric-only button, which is a great headline. But, because the batteries are the same as previous models, the all-electric range is, um, not exactly headline-worthy (hint: it's less than 1.1 miles)

Autos – How does the pre-production prototype Tesla Roadster suit a man used to driving fast cars (he's in the Ferrari Club of America, fer crying out loud)? Quite nicely, thank you. Oh, and he enjoys blowing away a tricked-out Nissan 350Z in impromptu drag races. It simply wasn't a contest.

Autos – Think high school students don't care? Let these California kids prove you wrong. With the help of Josh Tickell, author of Biodiesel America, the Biodiesel Green Ambassadors are here to spread the word about the original biofuel. And, perhaps, sing a little song about biodiesel. It's 12 minutes of inspiration from AutoblogGreen.

Autos – Want a family-size Tesla Roadster? Ever since Tesla Motors said recently they were not interested in an electric crossover vehicle, rumors have been swirling about who would turn the Lotus APX concept into an EV. Today, electric car company Zap! announced they will be building a zero-emission CUV based on the APX. I want it now.

Autos – What happens to a Prius when one of its front wheels starts spinning in the snow? Sometimes, ALL power to the drive system is stopped. Maybe a Prius performs better with global warming after all.

Autos – Ahhh, let's take a million-dollar prototype of this high-tech electric car out for a spin on a frozen lake, shall we? And then we'll film it and put it up on YouTube. Smashing idea, really. Shall we?
