Blue Jackets recall G Steve Mason from OHL due to Leclaire's illness

Sports – The Blue Jackets recalled goalie Steve Mason on Monday from the Ontario Hockey League on an emergency basis due to an illness to usual starter Pascal Leclaire. Mason backstopped Canada to a gold-medal win over Sweden last Saturday at the world junior hockey championship. He finished the tournament with a 5-0 record.

Science – This still image was cut out from a moving image wide shot taken by the HDTV onboard the KAGUYA at 2:52 p.m. on November 7, 2007 JST then sent to the JAXA Usuda Deep Space Center. In the image, the Moon's surface is near the North Pole, and the Arabian Peninsula and Indian Ocean can be observed on the Earth.

Former Star Trek Star Stages Raid at Las Vegas Hilton

Humor – Former Star Trek star Jonathan Frakes, with several henchmen in tow, staged a raid at the Las Vegas Star Trek Hilton to retrieve his allegedly "stolen" Star Trek memorabilia. RCMP launches ad campaign to boost recruitment

Jeremy Roenick to Retire After 18 NHL Seasons

Sports – It appears Jeremy Roenick's days in the NHL as a player have come to an end. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the veteran centre is retiring from the game after 18 seasons. Roenick spent the 2006-07 season with the Phoenix Coyotes, scoring 11 goals and 17 assists over 70 games.
