Video Games – Joystiq attends the Nintendo Wii Launch Party at Universal Citywalk in Los Angeles. It was an assault on the sense as Wii was everywhere you looked. The people waiting in line were extremely nice, and everyone looked like they were having a good time. No crazy PS3-esque launch madness here.

Video Games – We caught the midnight launch of Guitar Hero II at a Best Buy in Los Angeles and got an axe signed by Dave Navarro in the process. My fingers get sore just watching these guys play the game.

Video Games – Target is selling an "exclusive" Wii DVD disc for only a penny. True, it contains things you can download on the web for for free ... but hey, a white DVD case for a penny! Wii-ha! Check out the kids in the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance trailer who look like they were driven over from the set of The O.C.

Video Games – We visited a Gamestop in Van Nuys, California to check out the Wii in action. We had to surrender our IDs and credit cards just to play some Excite Truck, but it was a lot of fun. That and everyone in the store came to watch, so hello 7.5 minutes of fame.
