O'Reilly's Contrived 'War On Christmas' Is Back - Two Weeks Earlier Than Last Year

Politics – On his Fox News show last night, Bill O'Reilly kicked off his annual conniption fit over a perceived "War on Christmas." O'Reilly's target last night was a decision by the Fort Collins, Colorado City Council to celebrate the holiday season with "an educational museum display, plain wreaths and garlands on city property, and trees wit

The Right-Wing Relativists

Politics – When you have lost your moral moorings to the extent that you no longer can say with any "clarity" that tying someone down and repeatedly forcing them to inhale water into their lungs until they almost drown is torture, then I would suggest that you are indeed a moral relativist in the most pejorative sense of the word.

Regarding the T

Gay & Lesbian – ENDA passed in the House giving employment protections based on sexual orientation, but it left out gender identity. I have to ask: Why are transgendered individuals considered part of the gay, lesbian, and bisexual community?

Update On Netscape.com: It's Done, Possibly Moving To WOW.com. Big AOL Layoffs Coming.

Do No Evil – We've gotten an update on the controversial post we wrote earlier this month on the possible shutdown of the fourteen-month-old old Digg-clone Netscape. Too many AOL execs have had their eye on the Netscape.com domain name, which brings in 3 million or so page views per day. The most likely scenario - The current home page at aol.netscape.com becom

Fear Of Gay Blood

Health & Fitness – Giving blood is one of the most noble things you can do. The reason I'm not participating isn't because I have an infectious disease or life-threatening illness that would prevent me from doing so. I have a clean bill of health. No, the only reason why I'm not giving blood is they won't let me because I'm gay.

Are You Paying Attention?

Politics – Just what in the world are Bush and his cronies up to now? Taken individually, these events might be able to be explained away as standard procedures, needed tools in the "War on Terror®," etc. However when you begin to connect the dots, it creates an awfully disturbing picture.

The Do-Nothing Congress and Rovemort

Politics – There is a lot of dissatisfaction out there with the newly-elected Democratic-majority Congress right now for not having taking more action since they came to term in January. While some of the criticism may be deserved, there are darker powers at play.

King George Grants Himself More Powers

Politics – Are you familiar with the Fifth Amendment? President Bush is hoping you aren't. That's why on both July 17th and August 2nd he decided to give himself more powers that fly right in the face of the Fifth Amendment.

There Is No Privacy Issue With iTunes Store DRM-free Files

Gadgets & Tech – "In all likelihood, if you aren't sharing your personally identifiable files over P2P networks, you don't have anything to worry about, and an email address is the last thing you have to fret over if someone steals your iPod. The thief is after your DMP because they want your gadget, not because they want to email you a great offer on viagra.&

Did AOL kill their 'OpenRide' software?

Gadgets & Tech – When trying to start AOL Openride, I was asked to download an update. Suddenly OpenRide doesn't work anymore and needs to be "reinstalled," however there's no download link for OpenRide anywhere on AOL. Did AOL kill this piece of free software that was supposed to be the flagship of the new, free AOL?
