Digg = Censorship Nazis

Gadgets & Tech – Digg claims: "rather than allow an editor to decide which stories go on the homepage, the users do." Not the case, it's a totalitarian society that still controls the content and even chooses to slander other companies on a whim.

The perfect footwear

Men – I want to get these just for the reaction only. I can't wait to see the reaction on my friends' faces the first time I take off my shoe, place it on top of my beer and pop off the cap. If you like to be the center of attention like I do, and happen to have an affinity towards alcohol, these are the sandals for you.

Gadgets & Tech – Interesting essay on all these socially participant bits floating about the web these days, like Wikipedia, the reading of which the author likens to "reading the bible closely."

Aniston-bashing in the NY Times

Celebrities – I find Jennifer Aniston, as both an actress and a celebrity, to be unbearably dull. And whilst I'm usually all about trashing boring celebrities, Caryn James' piece on Aniston in this morning's New York Times is pretty brutal. While Brad and Angie effortlessly manipulate the media, Jen seems "like a case study in how not to become a movie star, how to forfeit the title of America's sweetheart." Ouch.

Digg corrupt and not user driven?

Gadgets & Tech – This is an interesting take on the problems with social bookmarking sites like Digg. People in groups can influence the numbers, as can editors. Here at Netscape, we\'re working hard to keep this site as unfiltered as possible, while being transparent about the editorial finesse that our Anchors provide. Transparency as honesty is our goal.
