Thoughts on Music by Steve Jobs

Music – Apple CEO Steve Jobs posted an essay on the state of digital music sales on their website. Interestingly, he appears to be challenging the "big four" music companies to eliminate the requirement of DRM systems to protect music. He's going on record saying that Apple would offer music free of copy protection in a heartbeat.

Money – The MacBook and MacBook Pro are helping Apple gain a significant marketshare in portable computers. They rose from 6 percent in January to 12 percent in June.
