News – China has setup a boot camp to try to curtail the growing problem of internet addiction. The boot camp, called The Internet Addiction Treatment Center (IATC), to date has treated over 1500 patients since 2004 and boasts a 70 per cent success rate.

Day after day the same stories popup, stories based on school yard brawls involving racial slurs. Of gangs of friends being phoned or smsed to come join the fight to bring weapons of any making and of any size.

News – Googles Australian portal attracts more than 8 million Aussie monthly, which equates to about 76 per cent of the online audience. In the space of one year its revenue has grown by over 108 per cent. Google launched it's Aussie arm in December 2002 and currently has over 100 employees.

News – Strength in numbers is the concept behind crowdsourcing. Take a simple menial task, one that todays computers can't perform for whatever reason, and give it to thousands of people to perform. Use the wisdom and efforts of the crowd to produce many results instead of one. This is the basic model of crowdsourcing.
