Humor – Apparently this town felt its residents didn't know the meaning of "dead end". (Hey, it's not that easy a concept!) [Amusing pic & caption & sign juxtaposition]

Humor – A garage sale sign from a woman that says in every way (to her ex): F-you. Really funny & disturbing at the same time.

Humor – Funny, smart piece on a day in the life without AC, brutal temps, & some of the consequences and lessons learned. 1 tip: Probably not a good idea to go car shopping when experiencing the onset of heat stroke.

Humor – Not sure exactly what's being sold here & for what -- a plot for a very small spec house? But housing market/economy is tough, so whatever works, I guess. Odd spot for some signs. (FYI, nowhere do the signs direct toward any other address, houses, etc--they're sitting there, "as is".)
Humor – Amusing, odd. Just a neatly trimmed bush on a nice lawn in a nice conservative neighborhood. And yet....doesn't it look a little like something else, something (maybe) it shouldn't be? (Actually I know the town and this thing caused quite a stir, like the "owners" never knew what hit them.) [Not for everybody.] Pic & caption.
Do No Evil – Not entirely fair to judge a school by a single mistake. Still this school system is considered 1 of best in NJ. Doesn't exactly provide a good example. In fact school system is noted for its attention to detail, competitiveness, etc. This sign must've escaped its normally rigorous Quality Control Dept. [Pretty funny IMO; also sad.]

Do No Evil – Author takes on suggestion (in linked piece) that standards in the burbs--education, food, taste, etc--are simply low. Is it possible to get a good dinner, see a good play, find a great school in the burbs? Is it possible to find cheese that doesn't come wrapped in plastic? Interesting, entertaining perspectives...

Love & Personals – Smart, personal take on dating (& relationships) when you've got kids and the other half also has kids. Not exactly Brady Bunch heaven. Author relates challenges & rewards. Interesting, entertaining, amusing.

Humor – Funny 'house for sale' sign. Desperate owner? Meltdown mode? Guy with a sense of humor? Pretty funny -- or nutty -- whatever's going on. Definitely the housing market is taking its toll...

Pets – Alright! Time for a quick game, everyone. Below is a video of a comedian Dan Bingham, that showcases a particular kind of fish in action. Can you guess what type of fish it is? Slow motion, for your convenience.

Love & Personals – A curious journalist's short look into Swinging and some of her findings, reactions, misconceptions. Piece not for everyone. Not earth-shattering but interesting, honest. (FYI, "swinging" as in, the sexual kind...)

Do No Evil – Entertaining, smart piece by novelist, Valerie Block, on local recycling rules maybe gone a "little" too far? It's satire, an "imagined" public notice from local gov't. But anybody whose town sometimes gets a bit demanding & specific on how we must prepare our recycled goods will probably enjoy or "get" this one...

Humor – You're tired, you've been driving too long, you need a break, maybe a simple cup of coffee, and you get off the highway...And here's what you face. Not exactly the calming, simple respite you were hoping for...

Family – Interesting, personal piece by journalist-author on her experiences of re-thinking & re-structuring her own family. What started as temporarily staying at sister's house has become permanent--a combined 4 adults & 11 children living, sharing in 1 communal home in 1 of most picturesque, upscale, conventional towns around.

Do No Evil – Interesting, personal story by journalist-author describing her upscale NJ town as a place where private country & tennis clubs, etc. still treat potential members like it's 1950s. No Jews, African Americans, minorities need apply. What if a friend joins a club that wouldn't allow you as a member? How do apparently "progressive" peopl
