Careers & Jobs – Being popular and having a good reputation aren't just valuable in high school. The people who get promotions and make sales in business always seem to be the ones who've got the most connections. Sure, knowledge and skill matter, but "knowing the right people" also seems to matter, especially if the right people think highly of you.

Gadgets & Tech – Facebook uses they as a singular pronoun when the gender of the user is not known, leading to news feed items like: "Pat Jones added Prince to their favorite music." ... Now after some cross-linguistic difficulties, Facebook is trying to stamp out singular they by being more demanding about gender specification.

Why I ignored this cryptic but unambiguous directive is lost in the fuzzy memories of our high-school years at Lakeside. I packed the manual away with other books after graduating in 1974, a year after Gates.

Gadgets & Tech – Recently I've been bumping into more and more people who've either left Google to come to Microsoft or got offers from both companies and picked Microsoft over Google. I believe this is part of a larger trend especially since I've seen lots of people who left the company for "greener pastures" return in the past year...
