Science – U.S. government requirements for increased ethanol use have already caused a higher demand, and thus higher prices, for corn, and the trend will only worsen as more government strictures interfere with the market. These higher prices have devastating effects on people living on the margins.

The White House, the experts and the polls say, however, is wrong. President Bush hasn't begun a comeback.

Do No Evil – General Taguba, who led the Army's investigation into Abu Ghraib, recently wrote in the new report, Broken laws, Broken Lives: "There is no longer any doubt the current administration has committed war crimes." News – Criminal charges have been filed against 13 parents of Los Angeles kids who routinely skip school. The parents of habitually truant students were arraigned on criminal charges filed by Los Angeles City Attorney for failing to comply with state law and keep their children in school.

Do No Evil – Politicians with an urge to see poverty only need to visit some of the neighborhoods in American cities. For more exotic poverty, visit the Indian reservations that do not have casinos. We live in strange times when politicians expect to get a pat on the back for returning to Americans $300 dollars while giving Israel $3B and Egypt $2B.
