Shopping – Because the CPCC guards young children, always watching for choking hazards or little pieces of bright plastic that might be ripped off and poked in one's eye, baby toys are a paragon of safety. Not so the scene when I tried to remove them from their hard-plastic casing. It was a war zone of Blade Runner proportions.

Shopping – Angola is on course to become the world's largest diamond producer within twenty years, predicts the Bretton Woods Institutions of the World Bank in a study unveiled in Luanda, Angola. The study indicates that Angola, which currently holds fourth place in rough diamonds producers rank, has the potential to become one of the largest producers.

Politics – The headlines this morning announced that United Nations Ambassador John Bolton would be resigning from his position. The White House quickly took issue with that characterization. "It is not a resignation," Deputy Press Secretary Dana Perino told CBS News.

Shopping – It's not just blocks and tree branches. These gifts are awesome thing you use every day, but wood: a wooden briefcase by designer Takumi Shimshura, a wood-looking trifold wallet, wood cuff links, and my favorite, wood framed sunglasses.

Gadgets & Tech – How many times have we dropped our forks in utter horror with the realization that we forgot about the parking meter, run out with the napkin still tucked into our belts, to find a ticket issued 90 seconds after the meter run out? The parking meter timer keychain means you will never be caught with a napkin in your pants again.
