Journal of a New COBRA Recruit

Humor – Remember GI Joe? Remember GI Joe's arch enemy, COBRA? If a new COBRA recruit kept a diary, it would probably look something like this.

Celebrating the Semicolon in a Most Unlikely Location - New York Times

Art & Design – This probably doesn't belong in Art/Design, but I didn't know where to submit it. Semicolon sightings in the city are unusual, period, much less in exhortations drafted by committees of civil servants. In literature and journalism, not to mention in advertising, the semicolon has been largely jettisoned as a pretentious anachronism.

Slouching Toward Black Mesa

Video Games – The cultural significance of the Half-Life series has been woefully under-examined. Pedestrian comparisons to Orwell's 1984 are unavoidable, but perhaps the real meat of the saga, which is mostly contained in the sequel, borrows its roots from other sources.
