Flickr censors Germany, suffers backlash

Do No Evil – From Flickr: "SafeSearch is a feature that allows you to control what turns up in your searches on Flickr, and it's on for everyone by default. Note: If your Yahoo! ID is based in Singapore, Germany, Hong Kong or Korea you will only be able to view safe content based on your local Terms of Service so won't be able to turn SafeSearch off." A full revolt is going on at Flickr over this censorship.

Apple announces 3rd parties can write Web 2.0 apps for iPhone

Siberian coal mine blast kills at least 35

News – From the article: "An explosion at a Siberian coal mine killed at least 35 people on Thursday, emergency officials said, weeks after 110 miners died in a blast at a neighboring mine operated by the same company. Sheep Cake - OMG I can't believe we did this.

Food – From the blog post: "So, a few nights ago ... an anonymous poster sent me a link to the threadcakes contest, and said that they thought I might be interested in taking a crack at it. We decided we would make a round cake, and make little sheeps out of fondant, or chocolate, or.. marzipan or something, and then affix them to the round cake which would have the numbers on the sides and regular grass on top."

Many killed in Pakistan bombing

News – From the article: "A powerful bomb blast in a hotel in the centre of the north-western Pakistani city of Peshawar has killed at least 24 people, police and officials say.
