Eliot

Eliot Phillips is a mechanical engineer who until recently was based in Nebraska. Growing up on a dairy farm he gained a strong mechanical aptitude; he dedicated time to more electronic pursuits as well. He is the lead hacker at Hack-A-Day and how-to editor emeritus for Engadget. Eliot stopped attempting to keep a regular sleep schedule years ago, finding it much more fun to go crawling through search results for new bizarre bits of knowledge. Celebrities – Roy Scheider died in today in Little Rock, Arkansas, of complications from a staph infection. The actor, who portrayed Chief Martin Brody in the Hollywood blockbuster Jaws, was 75.

News – SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Gordon B. Hinckley, the Mormon church's oldest president who presided over one of the greatest periods of expansion in its history, died Sunday. He was 97. Hinckley, the 15th president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, died of complications arising from old age, church spokesman Mike Otterson said.
