Scout Digidave

I am a freelance science and technology writer, or what I like to call a "geek writer."

My main interest is taking what I know about the networking effects of the internet and applying it to journalism. I do this at NewAssignment.Net

On Netscape I manage the Do No Evil channel. A dubious channel indeed. Help me define it by leaving a comment here.

I also work at NewsTrust.Net - a media literacy nonprofit that lets you rank news based on journalistic quality.

Connections - National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Hole

Art & Design – Nearly every car here has Wyoming license plates, but you can tell which are not driven by locals. Like mine, they hurriedly pull to the side of the road or even stop dead center, their drivers gawking as thunderously dumb-looking bison amble alongside. At dusk a moose brings traffic to a standstill by grazing on a shrub.

Give Peace a Price Tag

Do No Evil – Almost four decades ago, John Lennon and Yoko Ono piled Timothy Leary, Petula Clark, Dick Gregory, Allen Ginsberg, Tommy Smothers and many more into a Bed-In in a Montreal hotel room and recorded what may be the most famous protest song of all time using nothing but four mikes and an Ampex four-track. On Thursday, the hand-written lyrics to that im

In Changing Face of Beijing, a Look at the New China

Art & Design – If Westerners feel dazed and confused upon exiting the plane at the new international airport terminal here, it's understandable. It's not just the grandeur of the space. It's the inescapable feeling that you're passing through a portal to another world, one whose fierce embrace of change has left Western nations in the dust.
