I am a freelance science and technology writer, or what I like to call a "geek writer."
My main interest is taking what I know about the networking effects of the internet and applying it to journalism. I do this at NewAssignment.Net
On Netscape I manage the Do No Evil channel. A dubious channel indeed. Help me define it by leaving a comment here.
I also work at NewsTrust.Net - a media literacy nonprofit that lets you rank news based on journalistic quality.

At dusk a moose brings traffic to a standstill by grazing on a shrub.

Do No Evil – Some say that such a lack of awareness is caused by the inability of news organizations to depict accurately what is happening in Iraq. And, some veterans at UMass, including Belanger and Sol Black, believe that misleading information and misperceptions of the war could have huge ramifications this election cycle.

Do No Evil – This is the story of a 1 year 2 month old boy born to an 18 year old mother on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. This report/plea for assistance came from Philippino medical staff at one of the remote rural clinics HELP visited during "Needs Assessment" operations recently.

Do No Evil – Almost four decades ago, John Lennon and Yoko Ono piled Timothy Leary, Petula Clark, Dick Gregory, Allen Ginsberg, Tommy Smothers and many more into a Bed-In in a Montreal hotel room and recorded what may be the most famous protest song of all time using nothing but four mikes and an Ampex four-track. On Thursday, the hand-written lyrics to that im

Art & Design – When Barry Robinson saved three traditional red phone boxes from the scrapheap, neighbours applauded his stance on preserving British heritage. When he decided to mount them 20ft in the air on a girder in the middle of a village field in Warwickshire, they were not so impressed, claiming that the "telephone tree" is an eyesore.

Art & Design – Even by New York City standards, it's quite a sight. On a 17,000-square-foot vacant lot just west of the Museum of Modern Art, a mini-suburb of contemporary houses is being built Ã;¢ââ;;¬" practically overnight.

Art & Design – Artists have been appropriating images from Madison Avenue for decades. In the 1960s Andy Warhol made silk-screened copies of Brillo boxes and Campbell's soup cans. In the 1980s Richard Prince rephotographed magazine ads for Marlboro cigarettes, enlarged the pictures and exhibited them as his own. Works like these are comments on consumer culture t

Art & Design – If Westerners feel dazed and confused upon exiting the plane at the new international airport terminal here, it's understandable. It's not just the grandeur of the space.
