I am a freelance science and technology writer, or what I like to call a "geek writer."
My main interest is taking what I know about the networking effects of the internet and applying it to journalism. I do this at NewAssignment.Net
On Netscape I manage the Do No Evil channel. A dubious channel indeed. Help me define it by leaving a comment here.
I also work at NewsTrust.Net - a media literacy nonprofit that lets you rank news based on journalistic quality.

Real Estate – During the past five years, prices for residential real estate soared and interest rates dropped to historical lows creating an environment for emotional rather than logical buying. In turn, this spawned unparalleled growth of real estate professionals in all aspects of real estate from sales, lending, appraisal, and title/escrow.

Do No Evil – A memo sent last year by a voting machine maker to election officials in Florida has reignited controversy over the reliability and accuracy of the company's machines. Voting activists are now renewing calls to examine source code used in the Election Systems & Software machines during a close election last November.

Do-It-Yourself – Choose your data source, pick your location, download the .KML file, and dive in, you data junkie. Unfortunately GCensus currently only has information for California, Oregon, and Pennsylvania. But it is way cool looking to see census data on a 3-d map.

Art & Design – It's easy to create comics: upload your photos or find some images on the web, snap them together with comic book panels and add some speech bubbles to finish it off. Then, share them with your friends online. It's like a flickr site for comics.

Do No Evil – The greatest threat we now face is not ignorance but the half-measures and faltering steps that convince people that doing something means you're doing enough.

Careers & Jobs – "...Bloggers certainly have an edge over job seekers that do not publish one... hiring a blogger is a lower risk proposition because you have more information and a better idea of how they are going to perform."

Gadgets & Tech – you can tell the difference between Arial and Helvetica, 1px of margin can make or break your day, IE6 is like your creepy uncle; you don't like him, you don't want him around, but you still have to deal with him... and more.

Do No Evil – "In support of the innovative use of Internet-based tools in the production of a daily public radio program." If you're not familiar with Radio Open Source, this is an approach worth at least serious consideration, and perhaps outright emulation, by broadcasters elsewhere.
