So Microsoft, Why Can't I Get Windows Vista SP1?
Gadgets & Tech – Windows Vista SP1 is now available, but not everyone can get it. That includes me, at least on my Dell Inspiron M1710. You'll recall that Microsoft isn't going to offer SP1 via Windows Update to anyone who has a "problematic driver." But I couldn't figure out why my M1710 was excluded.

Apple Pushes Safari Via iTunes Update

Since Apple released the 3.1 version of its Safari browser on Tuesday, it's been offering Safari via its Apple Software Update applet and it's offering it as an "update" even to those users who never had Safari installed.

Microsoft Drops External HD-DVD Drive for Xbox 360
Gadgets & Tech – Took 'em long enough. They didn't file a press release, but Microsoft did use its Gamerscore blog, which it says is the "inside scoop from Microsoft Xbox and Games employees." Today Microsoft announced they would halt production of HD-DVD drives for the Xbox 360.

PalmOS Emulated on the iPhone / iPod Touch
Gadgets & Tech – There are still plenty of people who still love the simplicity and efficiency of PalmOS, although that OS has struggled to keep up with the Joneses at Microsoft, Symbian and Apple. Still, there are so many programs available for PalmOS, many still won't give it up, carrying an old PalmOS PDA even if they have a more up-to-date smartphone.
