Autos – Normally, anyone guilty of cutting up a beautiful supercar such as the Audi R8 would have us looking to perform the same treatment on the perpetrator. In this case, however, we'll let the crime go unpunished, since this peak under the skin of Ingolstadt's new Autobahn burner gives us a chance to admire it for more that just its looks.

Autos – Electric vehicles are an exciting future technology, but one aspect of the near-silent cars is a true negative: blind pedestrians will have a hard time hearing the cars coming. Possible soultions include adding noises to the cars to alert the visually impaired.

Autos – Ford has announced, in a nutshell, that Way Forward 2.0 will include a further reduction in its production capacity and work force combined with a "ramp up" of new product introductions. The company also announced that a return to profitability is now not expected until at least 2009.

Autos – Toyota is using some of the technology of the i-unit - including the carbon neutral kenaf fiber - in upcoming cars. Someday, Toyota says it will use no petroleum-based plastic parts, opting for plant-based plastics instead. And if you haven't seen the i-unit, then the picture alone is worth a click.

Autos – The Porsche Panamera is aimed squarely at potential buyers of the Maserati Quattroporte and Benz CLS55 AMG, when it comes to production late in 2007. The four-door Porsche will have a V8 shoved under the hood, with power being sent down to the rear wheels.

Gadgets & Tech – A 12-inch PowerBook has landed on the cover of October's Playboy, though it doesn't look like this is some 'Bunnies love Macs' special issue or anything. Still, it's nice to see Apple getting some love from the Hugh and crew.

Autos – The first photos of what is purportedly the next Lamborghini Gallardo. The neon green monster is said to be powered by a twin-turbo version of its already-potent V10, producing in excess of 600 horsepower -- Murcielago-style numbers. We're going to make an assumption that it will outperform all flavors of the R8.
