Travel – Is that a stranded traveler sleeping on the couch in a Heathrow airport terminal? Nay, that's Michael, one of about a hundred homeless people who call the London airport home. Some of them have suitcases in order to better "blend in" with the real travelers.

Gadgets & Tech – Bell Canada may have to pay for violating net neutrality. A March 29 class action filing says Bell should reimburse its Sympatico DSL subscribers 80 percent of monthly subscriptions and $2,100 per susbscriber for traffic shaping, false advertising and privacy violations.

Gadgets & Tech – Ebay Australia currently allows merchants to accept credit cards, but from June 17 they want to allow only PayPal or COD. When the Australian Consumer Commission asked for public comments on the proposal a lot of of people responded. But an anonymous 38 pg doc highly critical of Ebay 's move leading to speculation on who the author might be.

Gadgets & Tech – Today I attended the XMediaLab event in Wellington New Zealand. Tom Duterme, who is in the New Business Development group at Google in Mountain View, was here talking about innovation. Tom's job is to travel around the world looking for acquisitions for Google, so it was interesting to hear what things he looks for in startups.

Gadgets & Tech – In thinking about the desktop/web hybrid platforms that have launched or are about to be launched, I've decided that even if last year they were overhyped, this year we're going to see real adoption and applications. But that presents an interesting problem for developers and eventually, for users.

Gadgets & Tech – I bumped into Michael Dell at All Things D after his interview, and he was nice enough to show me this laptop that he was carrying that he said no one's seen before. It's a small form factor notebook, just like the Asus EEE and the HP 2133.
