My life in a nutshell...impossible so I will narrow it down into a paragraph or two. I am entering the third phase of my life...the second phase (18-38) was a void. I have no good memories of anything that had happened. My first phase was my childhood and it was nothing but negativity. I am coming into my third phase and it looks pretty good actually...not as bleak as my second phase. I am a junior at Clayton State University majoring in Comm. and a minor in history (a 3.44 gpa...WOW!!) I just came back from Iraq/Kuwait in 2005 supporting the 2nd MEF and made it back alive. It looks as though I could be taking the big step in the next year or so and I am doing some traveling. I like classic rock from the late sixties to the late seventies, groups such as Led Zep, Boston, Styx, and Thin Lizzy. But my real love is Jazz...not Kenny G but the real stuff: Parker, Davis, Coltrrane, Brotzman, Vandermark, and any good Bebop. I am into Flamenco also. I like to travel and I have lived in some pretty interesting places such as: Okinawa, Guam, Kuwait, Iraq, and all over the US. You can usually find me in Savannah on my days off kicking back at Tybee Island or in the North Ga. mountains camping. I like photography, my computers, a good cigar and a good single malt scotch. But I spend most of my time with Oscar and Brittany...my two Shih-tzu's. They are just like a couple of children. They are always getting into trouble, chasing the cats, or getting into fights with each other. I have a blog that I try to keep updated but with such a busy life I can not always write in it. I write about my job and the USNR. When I can not find the time to write I put in articles that interest me. Visit it at www.theweeklyearth.blogspot.com, make comments on the stories or how I can improve my blog. There...my life in a nutshell!

Richard Belzer: The Death of Conservatism

Politics – Conservatism is in its last throes if you will, twisting in the wind, dying like communism did because neither philosophy works by definition -- they both operate from the fraudulent premise built around contempt for and control of the people.

Scandal Brews at Oral Roberts University

Haunting Photo Essay: Kadykchan. The City of Broken Dreams

Art & Design – No, this isn't Chernobyl and there isn't any dangerous radioactive background or toxic pollution. You can even live in this town - but there is no reason for. This place has become absolutely useless after the collapse of the USSR, like many other Soviet industrial settlements.

NIkola Tesla

Science – Don't ever say Serbo-Croatia never did anything for you. If it wasn't for Nikola Tesla, you might not be reading this now. Your cell phone would be little more than a paperweight, and the government wouldn't have lethal orbiting death ray satellites with which to ensure your safety.

Andrew Bolt: Who is the real Rudd? | Herald Sun

Politics – KEVIN Rudd will be Australian Prime Minister by December. Or, to be more accurate, the new Prime Minister will be "Kevin Rudd". This "Kevin Rudd" will say just what you want, but may in fact be nothing like the real Rudd, who's now playing him and will take over after the election.

Rick & Fled, Suburban Guys. Episode: 'Politics? I'd Rather Eat Wood Chips'

Humor – Part of ongoing online fictional series. Each episode builds the story; each also meant to be enjoyed as single original piece. The R&F series is in dev for transition to hard copy book publication; the characters being dev for TV & online scripted animated series. Not for everybody. But pretty amusing, dry "off" humor, I think.

Bankrupting America

Money – America is broke; bankrupt on almost every level. We are culturally lacking, spiritually missing, educationally deprived and economically in deep debt. Our trade deficit and debt to China, the World Bank, and Japan are only symptoms of a wider and more pervasive bankruptcy.

McCain should know the truth about medical marijuana

Health & Fitness – The mystery is not why anyone believes cannabis can be safe and effective therapy. The mystery is why so many politicians, particularly Republican presidential candidates - Ron Paul being the heroic exception - are unwilling to consider the possibility, or to leave the matter up to the states.

Cheeky licence plate - no ifs, ands, or butts

News – This is really going to crack you up: A fellow in Winnipeg sold a bum license plate last week for $10.50. Not any old plate, but one from an ill-fated batch manufactured in 1987 that started with the prefix ASS. At the time, provincial license plates started with three letters, and then three numbers followed. Somebody goofed when the government's

Gen. Wesley Clark: Take Rush off Armed Forces Radio

Do No Evil – Tax dollars are used to fund Armed Forces Radio, and that money is not intended for radio show hosts to spout insults at our soldiers. These "phony soldiers" have simply exercised their right to free speech, as Rush Limbaugh does on a daily basis.
